Litewska 1, 00-581 Warszawa), entered in the register of entrepreneurs of the National Court Register, for which the registration files are kept by the District Court for the city of Warsaw in Warsaw, XII Commercial Division, under KRS number 0001031019, REGON: 525057433, NIP: 7011139662, share capital: 322 750,00 PLN.

  2. Personal data information about a natural person identified or identifiable by one or more specific factors determining physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity, including device IP, location data, web identifier and information collected through cookies and other similar technology.

DATA PROCESSING IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE WEBSITE

  1. In connection with the User's use of the Website, StudentSpace collects data to the extent necessary for the provision of individual services offered, as well as information about the User's activity on the Website. The following describes the detailed rules and purposes of processing Personal Data collected during the use of the Website by the User.

PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASES OF DATA PROCESSING ON THE WEBSITE

  1. Personal data of all persons using the Website (including IP address or other identifiers and information collected through cookies or other similar technologies) are processed by StudentSpace:

    1.1

    in order to provide electronic services in the scope of making available to Users the content collected on the Website — then the legal basis for processing is the necessity of processing for the performance of the contract (Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR);

    1.2

    in order to contact and respond to queries sent by Users regarding StudentSpace services, with which they have approached the Administrator using the form available on the Website or by sending a message to the Administrator's e-mail address — then the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the Administrator (Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR), consisting in the need to respond to Users;

    1.3

    for analytical and statistical purposes — then the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of the Controller (Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR), consisting in conducting analyses of Users' activity, as well as their preferences in order to improve the functionalities used and the services provided;

    1.4

    for the possible establishment and exercise of claims or defense against claims — the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), consisting in the protection of its rights;

    for marketing purposes StudentSpace — the rules for processing Personal Data for marketing purposes are described in the MARKETING section

  2. The User's activity on the Website, including his Personal Data, is recorded in system logs (a special computer program used to store a chronological record containing information about events and actions that concern the IT system used to provide services by StudentSpace). The information collected in the logs is processed primarily for the purposes related to the provision of services. StudentSpace also processes them for technical, administrative purposes, for the purpose of ensuring the security of the IT system and for the management of this system, as well as for analytical and statistical purposes — in this regard, the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

MARKETING

  1. StudentSpace processes Users' Personal Data in order to carry out marketing activities, which may consist of:

    1.1

    to send you e-mail notifications about interesting offers or content, which in some cases contain commercial information about StudentSpace products or products of third parties with whom we cooperate;

    1.2

    sending SMS notifications about interesting offers or content, which in some cases contain commercial information about StudentSpace products or products of third parties with whom we cooperate;

    1.3

    conducting other types of analytical and statistical activities, as well as related to the direct marketing of our goods and services and other entities cooperating with us (sending commercial information by electronic means).

  2. Personal data is processed:

    1.1

    in case of sending marketing content to the User — the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace (Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR) in connection with the consent given to receive marketing communications

    1.2

    in the case of advertising cookies - the legal basis for processing is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), which includes brand promotion and information about the offer in accordance with the User's consent to the storage of advertising cookies.

  3. If the User posts on the Website any Personal Data of other persons (including their name, address, telephone number or e-mail address), he may do so only on condition that the laws and personal rights of such persons are not infringed.

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGY

  1. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the User's device when using websites. They remember, among other things, his visit and settings. They perform various functions, but StudentSpace uses them primarily to enable the User to access the Service and facilitate his use of the services available on the Service.

  2. StudentSpace also uses cookies for analytical and marketing purposes, but only if the User consents to this on the cookie banner displayed on the Website. This consent can be withdrawn at any time using the floating button “MANAGE COOKIES”.

  3. Cookies are divided into permanent and session cookies — depending on how long they are stored, and into necessary and optional — depending on the purposes for which they are used.

  4. Advertising cookies are optional. They match advertisements to the interests of Users on and off the Website. Based on these cookies and the User's activity, a profile of his interests is created. StudentSpace and its partners may install advertising cookies through the Service.

PERIOD OF PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

  1. The period of data processing by StudentSpace depends on the type of service provided and the purpose of the processing. As a rule, the data are processed for the duration of the provision of the service or the execution of the order, until the withdrawal of the given consent or the filing of an effective objection to the processing of data in cases where the legal basis for processing the data is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace.

  2. The period of data processing may be extended if the processing is necessary for the establishment and exercise of possible claims or defense against claims, and after that time only if and to the extent required by law. After the end of the processing period, the data is irretrievably deleted or anonymized.

USER PERMISSIONS

  1. The User has the right to access the content of the data and to request their rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to the processing of data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority dealing with the protection of Personal Data.

  3. The User has the right to object to the processing of data for marketing purposes if the processing is carried out in connection with the legitimate interest of StudentSpace, as well as - for reasons related to the particular situation of the User - in other cases where the legal attitude of the data processing is the legitimate interest of StudentSpace (e.g. in connection with the realization of analytical and statistical purposes).

RECIPIENTS OF DATA

  1. In connection with the provision of services, Personal Data may be disclosed to external entities, including in particular:

    1.1

    suppliers responsible for the operation of IT systems, including electronic mail,

    1.2

    suppliers of logistics, legal, auditing and accounting services.

    marketing agencies (in the field of marketing services)

  2. StudentSpace reserves the right to disclose selected information about you to competent authorities or third parties that request such information, based on an appropriate legal basis and in accordance with the provisions of applicable law.

TRANSFER OF DATA OUTSIDE THE EEA

  1. The level of protection of Personal Data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) differs from that provided by European law. For this reason, StudentSpace transfers Personal Data outside the EEA only when necessary and with an adequate level of protection, in particular by:

    1.1

    cooperation with processors of Personal Data in countries for which an appropriate decision has been taken by the European Commission to determine that an adequate level of protection of Personal Data is ensured; in some cases, the European Commission additionally requires that such processor participate in programmes involving entities outside the EEA, whose participants are obliged to provide the same protection to Personal Data as they are entitled to in European Union (detailed information can be found herein);

    1.2

    the use of standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission; together with the additional security measures required, they provide Personal Data with the same protection as they are entitled to in the European Union; sample contracts can be found in herein;

    1.3

    the application of binding corporate rules approved by the competent supervisory authority.

  2. A copy of the detailed information on the safeguards applied by StudentSpace when transferring data outside the EEA can be obtained by contacting StudentSpace as indicated in section 11 of this Policy.

SECURITY OF PERSONAL DATA

  1. StudentSpace carries out a risk analysis on an ongoing basis in order to ensure that Personal Data is processed by them in a secure manner — ensuring, above all, that only authorized persons have access to the data and only to the extent necessary for the tasks performed by them. StudentSpace ensures that all operations on Personal Data are recorded and carried out only by authorized employees and collaborators.

  2. StudentSpace takes all necessary measures to ensure that its subcontractors and other cooperating entities guarantee the use of appropriate security measures whenever it processes Personal Data on behalf of StudentSpace.
